1) Write 3-4 sentences summarising the story
2) Use the TEXAS format to explain your reaction to the story, as follows:
T for TOPIC - identify an idea or characteristic that caught your attention when you read/saw the story
E for EXAMPLE - choose a specific part of the story and explain the story by identifying a particular part of
the story that is linked to your TOPIC idea.
X for EXPLANATION - describe and explain how the technique (language feature or film technique) creates
meaning.
A for ANALYSE - explain how the technique influences the viewer/reader's emotions/thoughts and consider
why the director/author wants to raise these ideas to the attention of the viewer/reader. Add in your own knowledge or researched information to develop your argument.
S for SUMMARY - summarise how the meaning from the story applies to humanity in general.
