Style of a Text
Much like with clothes, each writer has a distinctive style. Just as jeans, a t-shirt and jandals suggest a casual style; a writer may adopt colloquial language or slang to tell us something more about a character or indeed to reveal something about themselves. Similarly, formal English writing is like dressing up in a suit. It means using the best language that is available and presenting your work as best you possibly can.
